While pedestrian pavements are in generally good condition on the way from George Lane, the route is repeatedly crossed by vehicle access to high street businesses and Waitrose car park.

Improvements and new development in this area could:

• 11.1 Movement: Narrow the carriageway to introduce more generous pavements and cycle lanes.
• 11.2 Movement: Prioritise pedestrian movement where service or car park routes cross the pavement.
• 11.3 Public space: Introduce play opportunities to existing green spaces around the library and health centre.
• 11.4 Nature: Introduce new planting to extended pedestrian pavements.
