Streets with Garage Parking
Many of South Woodford’s residential streets feature semi-detached homes with integrated garages as a firmly established component of the street pattern.
This street typology could be improved by:
- 5.8 Creating raised tables to prioritise pedestrian access and calm traffic at intersections.
- 5.9 Introducing way-finding to Epping Forest, the Roding Valley and the Town Centre within the pavements.
- 5.10 Introduce public seating at junctions to encourage enjoyment of public space and improve accessibility of walking routes.
- 5.11 Creating new rain gardens with biodiverse planting in place of existing on street parking bays.
- 5.12 Planting new street trees of diverse species to increase total canopy cover.
