Residents can apply to Redbridge to adopt the tree pit outside (or nearest to) their home. Planting wildflower seeds in tree pits creates mini meadows. These act as stepping-stone habitats between more important green spaces like parks and gardens to support pollinating insects.

With regular love and care, you’ll soon see your tree pit bloom to bring splashes of colour to your street.

Get involved

Adopt a tree pit and encourage wildlife to thrive. A whole street can be designated a “Pollinator Pathway” if all the tree pits are adopted – please see the Redbridge website for more information on how to go about this as you’ll need to get the agreement of certain number of residents on your street.
